Almost 200,000 Housing Starts in February
According to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), 195,087 homes were started in Canada in February, a trend of the six-month moving average of monthly seasonally adjusted annual rates (SAAR) of housing starts.
"The trend in total housing starts continued to moderate in February. Moderation in economic fundamentals in the second half of 2012 has led to more modest housing demand and builders are adjusting accordingly," said Mathieu Laberge, deputy chief economist at CMHC.

Calgary's Fastest Growing Community
It appears Calgarians are voting for Panaroma Hills as Calgary's most popular community in the form of moving vans and cardboard boxes. Having grown by nearly 2,400 residents according to the 2012 Civic Census - more than any other community in the city – the appeal of the area is obvious.
The Robsons are one of the many families who have chosen to make Panorama Hills their new home in 2012. The Robsons were attracted by the affordability and amenities available in the area.

St. Patrick's Day
Set to transform a previously underwhelming East Village island into an all-season destination, Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) has announced plans for their $20 million overhaul of St. Patrick's Island.
Based on a plan that would see the island's natural state balanced with Calgarians' vision of the island as an "urban oasis", the project will include a beach, running paths, a small amphitheater and an area for skating in the winter.
