Keeping Busy During an Open House
When selling your home, REALTORS® will sometimes hold an open house. Open houses are a way to market and expose the property for you, the seller. While an open house is taking place at your property there are more than enough Calgary and area activities to keep you busy while away for the two to three hours an open house lasts. Here's CREB® Real Estate News' top five.
Especially during rainy days, there's no better way to be entertained and kill some time than to spend a couple hours in a warm theatre with a big bucket of popcorn and a cold drink. Calgary has plenty of theatres to choose from in all corners of the city including Scotiabank Theatre at Chinook Mall, Cineplex Odeon at Crowfoot Crossing and Cineplex Odeon at Eau Claire Market. Art house film fans can partake in The Plaza and The Globe.Calgary has more than 7,800 hectares of parkland for residents and visitors to enjoy. More Inner City park locations include Confederation Park, Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, Shaw Millennium Park and Riley Park. While more suburban parks include Nose Hill Park, Fish Creek Park and Ralph Klein Park.
Pack up the family and head an hour in any direction out of Calgary and there's plenty to see and do. Head west and take in the sites at Bragg Creek, Kananaskis, Canmore or Banff. Head north and check out the Torrington Gopher Museum, head east and spend the day at the Wyndham Carseland Provincial Park, or head south and spend the day touring High River and its murals.
The Calgary Zoological Society was founded in 1929 with the first zoo starting out with 36 mammals and 78 birds and by 1986, the zoo reached more than 800,000 visits. Today the zoo has several events and programs ranging from the Zoo Lights in December to Zoogala to Zoo Year's Eve. Check out www.calgaryzoo. ab.ca for more information.
Calgary has several museums to peruse and learn more about local history including The Glenbow Museum, the Aero Space Museum and The Military Museums. As well there's several art galleries.
