Habitat for Humanity Recruiting Families
Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta is looking for up to 25 families interested in partnering with the organization to own a Habitat for Humanity home of their own.Habitat for Humanity's homeownership model empowers families to invest in homeownership. Through volunteer labour (or sweat equity), and donations of materials and funds, Habitat Southern Alberta builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of homeowner (partner) families. In 2012, 16 local families partnered with Habitat for new homes. The homes are then sold to the partner families with no down payment required and are financed with affordable, no-interest mortgages. Habitat works with families in need of safe, decent,
affordable housing.
Information sessions about Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta's family partnership program and eligibility criteria are now taking place in Calgary with sessions set for Jan. 22 at the Marlborough Community Centre at 7 p.m.; and Jan. 30 at the Cardel Place Administration Room at 7 p.m.
