Housing affordability and changing lifestyle choices are fueling double-digit growth in Airdrie.
The city's residential resale housing market recently posted its best third quarter ever, with sales activity jumping 16 per cent to 455 units between July and September, according to CREB®. Year-to-date sales, meanwhile, have increased by 28 per cent to 1,354 units compared to the same period in 2013.

June brings rise in number of homes sold and listed
Normally associated with a rise in the mercury, the arrival of summer also provided a boost to Calgary's housing market this June.
Driven by continued strong demand amongst buyers, residential sales totaled 2,670 units in June, a 16 per cent increase over last year and 18 per cent above the 10-year average.

Single Family Shortage
With an increase in Calgary's single-family market sales, a decline in new listings has brought inventory numbers to their lowest level for the month of March since 2006.
Single-family sales at the end of the first quarter of this year totalled 3,901 units, a 9.5 per cent increase over the same period last year while new listings declined by nearly five per cent. As sales growth outpaced the amount of new listings growth in the market, inventory levels dropped to just over 2,000 units.

A Return to Normal
Calgary is growing by leaps and bounds, and they've got the numbers to prove it.
According to the recently release Calgary Civic Census, Calgary'spopulation has reached 1,120,225 – an increase of 29,289 residents from April 2011. This represents a 2.68 per cent increase in Calgary's population, similar to the level seen in 2007 where population growth was 28,283 or 2.84 per cent. During the first quarter of 2012 alone, an estimated 26,910 people moved to Alberta from other provinces.
