Calgary Prices Holding Firm

Home prices in Calgary showed a slight increase in July, according to Teranet's National Bank National Composite House Price Index. The index, which tracks observed or registered home prices over time, showed month over month prices in the city rose by 0.2 per cent in July, increasing by 1.1 per cent on a year over year basis.

Alberta's Oasis

More than 100 years ago a dam was built east of Calgary in order to provide irrigation for area farmers, with time "Alberta's Oasis" was born.

Chestermere Lake has become a thriving lake community just 10 minutes away from Calgary. The town started out as a "pleasure resort" and The Cabin Owners of Chestermere Lake organized in 1959. Back then, people were able to lease their lots with the opportunity to buy initiated in 1975.

New Habitat Homes for 2 Airdrie Families

Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta held a celebration Aug. 21 for two families who received new homes in Airdrie.

Ground was broken on the semidetached homes in October 2011 in the community of Bayside. Through Built Green Canada, the project is certified platinum and will reduce the overall water and utility costs for the homes.
