September 2020: home sales rise along with supply
September sales activity jumped to 1,702 units, the strongest September total since 2014.
New listings in September improved over last month, but levels remained comparable to the previous year. The increase in sales relative to new listings did prevent any monthly gains in inventory levels, but supply in the market is still down 12 per cent compared to last year.

CREB® releases third-quarter housing market report
Third-quarter activity was far better than original expectations, as sales activity in the city improved by nearly 12 per cent over last year's levels.
Some of the shift in the third quarter reflects activity that likely would have occurred in the second quarter. The housing market also benefited from easing lending rates and previous price declines. Gains were driven by all property types except apartment condominiums.

Four times Calgary has appeared in video games (and one honourable mention)
According to Calgary Economic Development, Calgary has the potential to become an industry leader in the burgeoning Canadian video game and "immersive media" sectors.
I guess it's fitting, then, that Calgary has actually appeared in a handful of video games over the years, whether by design or thanks to the efforts of a few creative players.

Frozen fun: outdoor activities for Calgary's COVID-19 winter
It's still only October, but thanks to COVID-19 and Calgary's fickle weather, it's time to start planning for winter. And if the rush to snag home fitness gear and bikes this spring/summer was any indication, equipment for traditional winter sports might soon be hard to find.

Natural attraction: for residents of nearby communities, the allure of Nose Hill Park is hard to resist
Nose Hill Park looms large over Calgary's northwest – an expanse of unspoiled grassland enveloped by the vastness of an ever-evolving city. How to choose the right home security system for your needs and budget
Choosing a home security system can seem daunting. There are as many different options to protect your property as there are styles of home construction.
The advent of integrated smart homes mean that DIY setups are increasingly common, leading professional services to expand their features and lower their prices. Modern security systems don't just monitor for break-ins, either – many systems contain a variety of sensors that can detect everything from a carbon monoxide leak to a flood in the basement.
