My First Home: Peter Maher, longtime radio voice of the Calgary Flames
He was, at the time, a long way from becoming the soundtrack of an NHL franchise for an entire generation, a Foster Hewitt Award recipient, a Hockey Hall of Fame inductee and one of the most respected names in the play-by-play business. In fact, the idea of going on to call 2,954 NHL games would've quite likely made 26-year-old Peter Maher question his sanity.
However, back in 1975, in his hometown of Campbellton, N.B., Maher was a mighty busy fellow, nonetheless.

My Neighbourhood: Inglewood and Ramsay
As Calgary's oldest community, Inglewood is a neighbourhood that has been through a lot.
Since it pre-1900 founding as Brewery Flats, Inglewood – along with its neighbour Ramsay – has weathered both the First World War and Second World War, the Great Depression, and countless booms and busts. The communities have bounced back time and time again, emerging as two of the most desirable places to call home in the city.

Rolling out the red carpet: a hypothetical exercise in royal resettlement
After the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they planned to call Canada home, Okotoks town council passed a resolution inviting the royal couple to settle in their town.
Since then, however, a viral pandemic and a change of heart on the part of the couple – they are reportedly quarantining in California and have shifted their sights to finding a new home in Malibu – seem to have scuttled the possibility of the royals settling in the Great White North any time soon.
Yet, with all the attractive properties in the Calgary area, the possibilities for Harry and Meghan would have been endless.
