For the last three years, residents of Bowness have been turning what many see as trash into a yard and garden treasure.

The Bowness Composting Initiative stemmed from an idea from local resident Ted Woynillowicz.

"It kind of started when our kids left home and I'd retired recently and wanted to get back into gardening," he said.

Arrowwood School reopens after April 2012 fire

The Arrowwood Community School had its grand reopening today, less than a year after being ravaged by a fire started by an arsonist in April of last year.

About 200 people gathered in the school's gymnasium to celebrate the reopening as several school board members, members of the community spoke and classes recited poems or sang songs.
