New seniors housing opens in Inglewood
Calgary seniors have a new option for affordable living in the historic community of Inglewood.
Inglewood House is a three-story, 43-unit complex, said a release from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), complete with 10 studio and 33 one-bedroom apartments, five of which are barrier free. The project was a joint effort of the Governments of Canada and Alberta.

Senior population in Calgary set to triple in 30 years
Calgary's reputation as a rapidly changing city isn't confined to its architecture.
By the early 2030s, the City projects – for the first time ever – Calgary will be home to more seniors than youth.
"Between 2012 and 2042, the population over 65 is expected to triple from roughly 100,000 people in 2012 to over 300,000 in 2042," said Katie Black, acting director for Community and Neighbourhood Services with the City.

Residential sales for last month, highest ever recorded in Calgary
Calgary's residential housing market continued its upward surge last month with a record-setting May that saw a 16 per cent increase in sales.
A combined 2,948 single- and multi-family homes switched hands last month, compared with 2,535 in May 2013. This year's total represents the most sales in May in Calgary's history.
