Calgary Chamber Releases 2013 Outlook

Despite slower growth and a global economic downturn, the Calgary Chamber is predicting Calgary and Alberta will continue to lead the country in economic growth in 2013.

"The risks of a global downturn are now higher than they've been since 2008," said Calgary Chamber chief economist Ben Brunnen. "But despite the weakened global economy, Calgary and Alberta will continue to be the envy of the country in the year ahead."

Halloween - it's the one time of the year when homeowners purposely decrease the curb appeal of their homes. The one time when trimming the hedges and cleaning the clutter may actually increase the likelihood of people stopping in. Does Calgary Have a Soul?

Calgary Economic Development (CED) and the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre kicked off a year long, nine session Soul of the City speaker series to answer just that. CED is touting the series as a year-long engagement with Calgarians about what makes Calgary great and attracts the brightest people to be part of our energy.

The series kicked off Sept. 26 at the Simmons Building where more than 100 people took part in a discussion from consultant and placemaker Katherine Loflin.
