City seeking input on Crowchild Trail
Study looks to update 40-year-old plan for roadway
The City of Calgary is conducting a study to look at the future of Crowchild Trail.
The study, which will examine the stretch running from 24th Avenue N.W. to 17th Avenue S.W., will identify short-, medium- and long-terms plans for the major transportation corridor to accommodate future growth and improve travel.
Throughout June and July, Calgarians are invited to provide their thoughts through workshops, study area tours and an online questionnaire. The City will also be at various community events to talk to people about Crowchild Trail.

Open house: East Paskapoo Slopes redevelopment
The City is hold two information sessions to share the revised application to redevelop a piece of Paskapoo Slopes east of Canada Olympic Park.
"Following public engagement that took place in the summer, the applicant has recently provided a revised proposal," said David Couroux, senior planner with the City's Planning Department. "We've had a chance to review the revised application and would like to not only share this with the public, but gather feedback specific to building heights and visual impacts to help further refine the plan."

Chestermere votes for city status
Chestermere council voted 6-1 to become a city Sept. 29.
"This is an exciting historic move for our community and I'd like to thank every single person, and there are many, who took the time to let us know their opinion on this subject," said Mayor Patricia Matthews.
The next step in becoming a full-fledged city involves sending an application to the Minister of Municipal Affairs for an official title by Jan. 1.

Council approves priorities for 2015-2018
On May 6, Calgary City Council approved priorities directing administration to build 2015-2018 business plans and budgets including a 4.7 per cent tax hike.

City ready to accommodate suburban growth of 114,000 people
Calgary has enough serviced and zoned land to accommodate an expected 114,000 people in the next five years.
In a new growth forecast and according to land supply numbers released by the City, there is enough serviced land with approved zoning for 18,846 single-family homes and 26,793 multi-family units.
