Shovels broke ground in Evanston in 2007, but the community has quickly become one of the fastest growing and most desirable places to live in Calgary's northwest quadrant.

Situated among some of Calgary's most picturesque landscapes, the adjacent communities of Valley Ridge and Crestmont – both originally developed in the 1990s – offer homeowners access to plenty of nature and established amenities, along with some compelling views.

Large swaths of land in Calgary are being transforming into amenity-rich communities full of unique housing, opportunities to experience nature and easy access to established amenities. Here's a handful of new-community projects currently
underway in southwest Calgary.

Crestmont View, the new extension to the established community of Crestmont on Calgary's western edge, offers beautiful views, lots of wide-open space and all the benefits of living in the city.

"This is an estate community and then some," said Cheryl Heilman, marketing director with Qualico Communities, the developer behind the project. "It's both the east and west Artist's View by today's standards – it's a really customizable and elite community."
