As part of downtown's humming riverfront, the community of Eau Claire possesses a rich and varied history. With beginnings in the 1880s as an industrial site, the land was originally owned and developed by the Prince family, which founded the Eau Claire Lumber Mill.

The City is looking for Calgarians input in a plan to redevelop West Eau Claire Park.

The area in question is along the Eau Claire Promenade from the Louise Bridge to Eau Claire Plaza. The City said public input will help identify a clear vision to guide the design, provide a concept plan and prioritize improvements for the park.
